If you want to be a Chiropractor,
Students should plan to apply to chiropractic schools at least 6 months to one year prior to desired admission. Many chiropractic programs will have multiple starting classes each year, so plan accordingly. Each chiropractic college has their own application form and the student should contact each institution individually.
Letters of Evaluation
Each chiropractic college establishes their own rules in the application process regarding letters of evaluation. Many schools will require three letters of evaluation along with a letter of recommendation from a licensed Doctor of Chiropractic. The prospective applicant should contact each school individually to obtain specific requirements.

Q: What do chiropractors typically major in before they go to a chiropractic college?
Im interested in being a chiropractor and i am currently majoring in biology. however, i was curious to know what other possible majors i could check out primarily because biology is just a rather difficult major.
Also what are some really good chiropractic colleges out there? Right now im interested in Palmer, but it seems rather expensie.
A: Chiropractors are anti-scientific quacks. Don’t waste your time.
If you want to study real medicine with some aspects of vertebral manipulation, consider going to a School of Osteopathy and become an Osteopathic Physician.
postscript:
Chiropractors like to advertise themselves as “back doctors/specialists”, but rarely let patients know about their true beliefs. Chiropraxy has nothing to do with modern science or medicine. Chiropractors – at least those who are termed Palmer “straights” – believe that all illness is caused by blockages in the spine – what they call subluxations (magic – because nobody can see them). These chiropractors claim to cure disease by “unblocking” the spine. On slow news days, newspapers and TV stations use to take kids with ear infection to chiropractors, who would often prescribe an expensive series of spinal manipulations for the kid.
Chiropractors who reject or downplay the Palmer “subluxation” orthodoxy are called “mixers”. They’re the ones you see at “health fairs” waving refrigerator magnets above patients to align their spines and remove impurities in the blood – and lighten the patients’ wallets….
Q: Paying for Chiropractic College and Starting a Practice?
Does anyone have any advice on the best way to pay for chiropractic college or do you just have to put yourself into major debt to do it?
Then when you are finished and ready to start a practice what is the best way for going about that? Or is it easier to buy an old office?
HELP!!!
A: When your venturing out on your own for the first time, but a used space/rental, until your company/business has a chance to grow in reputation, and financially. Within 4 years if u see a efficient, increase in sales, and profit…Upgrade! Market a newer image, and let your customers know it. Then you will be working from a (lack of a better word) “Pretty” place, and you’ll have return customers that will follow!

Q: What is the best College for Doctor of Chiropractic in California (moreso southern – Los angeles area…)?
looking at becomming a chiropractor… and focusing on maybe Cleveland Chiropractic College or Southern California University of Health Sciences or life chiropractic college west (though the first two are preferable due to distance).
Just looking for recommendations of college’s and any advice! Thanks!
A: Hi there, good luck and congratulations in advance! I have a few friends that went to Cleveland and are doing great. That is the one that comes to my mind the quickest and am familiar with it because of them. I have also heard of SCUHS and have one friend in San Francisco that attended Life, so I think you are on the right track so far! I myself would probably choose Cleveland….No bones about it LOL! (But that’s just an opinion) However, check them all out before you commit….There are so many. Great profession….Good luck!
Q: Is kinesiology a good undergraduate major to major in before going to chiropractic college?
A: Kinesiology is an excellent foundation prior to entering chiropractic college. It will give you a broad base on understanding anatomy and mechanics…
Also, the chiropractor that stated above that thousands are failing out of practice…those were probably the ones that did not have the drive or patience nor business skills to survive the ever changing health care field. Do you think the first chiropractors coming out of school back before insurance existed were failing out too??? They made it just fine and guess what, the profession is STILL doing great if not better. There are many ways and sources to get new patients and get paid for your services, (i.e. Attorney Referrals, Co-managing with Medical Doctors, and just plain busting your rear marketing to attract new patients to you) IT JUST DEPENDS ON HOW MUCH YOU WANT TO MAKE IT AND SUCCEED. NO ONE LIMITS YOU BUT YOU! I graduated chiropractic school in 2006 and came out swinging hard, practice was slow in the beginning but as more people knew about my services through hard work, my practice is growing.
Q: What is the closest Chiropractic college near New Hampshire?

Q: Whats the best chiropractic college in America?
I think i might want to be a chiropractor, but idk much about colleges that do that….
if you could just name some, thanks!
A: National in Chicago is the best by far
i wouldn’t recommend going into the field because of the insurance companies
Q: Does anyone know anything about Western States Chiropractic College in Portland?
I am thinking of attending this school in Portland and would like any personal advice- from what the school is like, to the best places to live in Portland. I would be moving from Austin, TX.
A: If you’re seriously considering chiropractic as a career, please consider Palmer College in Davenport. I’d highly recommend visiting to get a first-hand appreciation for where chiropractic was founded. It’s arguably the best chiropractic school in the world. Even if it’s not the right fit for you, it would help you in your decision-making process. Check out the website below. I hope this helps.
Q: Chiropractic College Graduate? How was it finding a place to work? I worry as we are older and unsure?
We really dont konw what to do.. go with another Dr. Start our own practice. I heard its super tough to make it.
A: My bro went to Palmer college and had to work with another doc. His wife also grad from Palmer. they ended up working diff hrs due to being around each other all the time. Look around your area and see how many chiros there are. Its amazing how many are here in Davenport. It is super tough, but i am sure you will make it. esp if you happen to be a palmer grad.
Q: what classes do you have to take before chiropractic college?
required classes in college to get into chiropractic college
A: They require the same prereq classes as medical school.
Here is a link to Palmer College of Chiropractic.
These are the same requirements that a prospective student for Stanford School of Medicine would need to take.
Q: Is the Palmer College of Chiropractic branch in Port Orange a good school?
I am looking into a career in chiropractic and I was wondering what the benefits of going to the Palmer branch campus in Port Orange, FL would be as opposed to going to the main campus in Davenport, Iowa.
Which campus is better? Is the type of education received any different? Does anyone know any Palmer FL grads?
A: I worked for a graduate of Palmer (Davenport), Here is his website…he may have some information for you (you could even email him…I am sure he could answer any ?? for you)!! GOOD for you for thinking of a career in chiropractic…we need more people like YOU!!!!!!!!!!!! GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!
Q: Is Palmer College of Chiropractic in Florida a good school?
i want to go there after i graduate.
=)
A: Look at going to national in chicago
Q: how much does it cost to apply to a chiropractic college , whats the cost for books each year?
A: Until recently, chiropractic colleges used comics for text books.
Cost is irrelevant. You really need to reconsider this interest in Chiropractic. The entire “science” of chiropractic is based on ignorant, anti-scientific superstition.
Chiropractors are quacks.
Q: Chiropractic College Question…?
I have recently decided to apply to Chiropractic college…I am 30 yrs old with a degree in Philosophy and have just begun to take my pre-req science courses.
I have read on a few websites that some schools are very very difficult, almost impossible to get through. I realize the sciences are very difficult and am prepared to do my best. However, are there some schools that are more reasonable to complete than others?
Can anyone offer any insight on this?
A: Perhaps I have a little insight, I graduated top of my class at Northwestern Chiropractic College in MN. Most schools have some sort of reputation. Some good, some not so good. The “joke schools” are Sherman and Life. Stay away from those they are the ones that the students have the worst time passing the 4 parts of the chiropractic boards because they do not learn anything. Other schools are more demanding like the one I graduated from and Western States in OR. Both those schools are very similar and have a very high percentage of first pass on the boards. Also they produce some very competent doctors as a result. Palmer is a good school and is very popular. For the money it costs today to complete the pre-reqs and the entire program you should seek out the best education. Yes it is hard, I have spent many 12 hour days studying but in the long run it is worth it. Good luck.
